Kayla's Baptized!

On Saturday Kayla was baptized at Brian's family's church in Smithsburg.  All the the immediate family was there and a few others too!  Kayla didn't nap on the way there, so she was kind of a mess when we first got to the church, but she turned it around when it was time for the service and was full of smiles.  Here are some pictures taken at the church.

Yesterday we headed up to Smithsburg for a cookout and to pick up Winnie.  Kayla hated getting back in the car for another hour long ride, but she was a trooper.  As you can see Ella and Kayla had a great time playing in the turtle pool.

Happy Birthday Grammie!

Of course our night didn't end there. Since Grammie's birthday is on Christmas, we decided to celebrate that this weekend too! Again, Ella was very helpful and helped Grammie blow out the candles.

Christmas - Round 1 (continued)

After Ella and Kayla took their naps we headed out to see Pappy and of course open more gifts over there! It was a very long day and as you can see in the last picture Kayla didn't quite make it the whole evening and needed a quick nap. Winnie was also pretty tired and warmed up the blanket for Kayla to sleep.

Christmas - Round 1

Yesterday morning we packed up the ol' Honda again and headed up the road to Brian's family to celebrate Christmas! Ella was very excited that Santa delivered her presents early to Grammie and Pappy Rick and Pappy's house. She was so helpful she even opened everyone else's gifts, as well as, her own! Saturday in Smithsburg

On Saturday the Updegraff's hit the road again for another day trip. Yesterday we went to visit Brian's family. We headed over to Uncle Dan's parents pool so Ella and Brian could swim and then Brian's dad brought crabs and shrimp for lunch. Ella had the best time swimming and is completely fearless. She loves jumping in and going under the water. By the end of the day Brian was able to let her go and could doggie paddle the length of the pool with her swimmies on. She was even diving head first off the raft. We made her get out to eat lunch, but as soon as we were finished eating Brian was back in the pool with her. Brian even took Winnie for a quick dip, but she didn't like it and got out as soon as he let her go. Of course Kayla was a perfect angel and slept almost the entire time we were there. Since we were eating outside that's there where she napped. I think all the fresh air made her sleep really well! Here are just a few pictures I took yesterday.

Early Easter in Smithsburg

This past weekend we headed to Smithsburg to see Brian's family. Of course, Grammie and Pappy Rick and Aunt Robin and Uncle Dan, both had Easter baskets for Ella. She loves getting presents and opening gifts so it made her day! On Sunday morning we went to church and Ella was surprisingly very good! The church had "busy bags" with crayons and paper for the kids to play with, which kept Ella busy, along with goldfish crackers and her water. She was pretty restless by the end, but she made it through with little disruptions to the people around us! Here are some pictures from the weekend.
