Kayla Rolled Over!
Two days ago Kayla rolled over! I've been trying to post the video since then, but have been having some technical difficulties. While Kayla was on the floor doing tummy time she rolled over for the first time. At first I couldn't believe it because she was only nine days old so I called Brian over to watch and she did it again. We decided to get the camera hoping she would do it again and she did! Enjoy!
Kayla Can Roll Over...Video 2
I was hoping it wasn't just a fluke Kayla rolled over, so during tummy time yesterday she did it again...

First Solo Trip to Target With Both Girls
Today was Brian's first day back to work. I need a few things from Target, so I figured I should try getting out alone with both girls. As you can see, Kayla was in her car seat in the back of the cart and Ella sat up front. Both girls were on their best behavior. Ella enjoyed a lollipop to keep her busy and Kayla just hung out in the back. We were only gone an hour, but it was nice to get out!

Tummy Time
Kayla isn't really a fan of tummy time, but we make her do it. We also try to include Ella while she does it. We have Ella shake the rattle so Kayla turns her head from side to side, but sometimes she does it a little too close to her head. In two of the pictures Ella is trying to console Kayla and was telling her "it's OK" and patting her back. In the bottom picture Ella wanted her picture taken on the boppy pillow just like we did with Kayla.

Life at Home with Two
Since leaving the hospital on Monday things have been pretty quiet at home. Mommy, Daddy, Ella and even Winnie are all adjusting to the new addtion to our family. Kayla has been such a good baby...She loves to sleep and be swaddled real tight. Kayla also loves to be held, but will let you put her down in her swing or the pack n play to nap. She isn't eating as well as I would like, but she's putting on weight and has lots of dirty diapers. Ella has adjusted very well to having a little sister and doesn't even mind when Mommy or Daddy is holding Kayla. She'll just hop up and sit with us too. We haven't left the house with both girls yet, but maybe we'll get out this weekend.

Day 2 in the Hospital
Since Kayla came late Satruday night we didn't have vistors till the next day. Of course Daddy brought Ella to meet her baby sister. At first Ella was very excited to kiss and hold Kayla, but then she was more excited about the buttons on the bed and the remote control then she was about the baby. Amanda, Michele, Sue, Robin, Dan, Nor, Aunt Chris, Tom, Stacy and Doug also came to visit! It was exciting to have everyone meet Kayla for the first time!

Labor and Delivery
I had my 39 week doctor's appointment on Friday. After that appointment I had some cramping that lasted into Saturday morning, which turned into very mild contractions and spaced very far apart. Around 3:00 pm I realized that the contractions were probably the very early signs of labor, but I wasn't really concerned. As the day went on they were getting more painful, but would come and go. Just after 7:00 I took a shower and the contractions were getting much more painful and closer together. At 8:30 I called Michele and asked her to come over and watch Ella for the night. I knew this was it. Brian and I have conflicting times about when we arrived at the hospital. I say it was just after 9:00, but he says it was closer to 9:30. Either way, I was admitted right away and hooked up to an IV because I wanted an epidural and needed at least one bag of fluids before I could get it. Also, they needed to run my blood work, do some other tests and then I needed to wait for the anesthesiologist to finish with another patient and there was also another person who was ahead of me. I was in the worse pain of my life when he finally came around 10:15 pm. My doctor told me if I didn't receive the epidural I would probably have the baby before 11:00. I didn't believe her or didn't care at this point. I finally received the epidural and as soon as he was done my water broke and it was time to push. About five pushes later the baby was out and the epidural never had time to work so my doctor is "giving me credit for a natural delivery." That meant nothing at the time, but once I had the baby the pain stopped and it was amazing to meet her for the first time! Here are some pictures just after she was delivered.

Doctor's Appointment - 39 Weeks
Today I had my 39th week appointment. My doctor said I am 2-3 cm dilated, but her head is still far back. If I don't have the baby before Wednesday I am going to be induced that day. I need to call Monday morning to make sure there's an available opening and I will know for sure then. Other than that everything is good and now we're just waiting...

23 Months
Today Ella turned 23 months...I can't believe she'll be two next month! I'm sad she's not my little baby anymore, but she's turning into a wonderful little girl. She loves running errands with Mommy, but only if I have a lollipop to keep her occupied. She's talking more and more everyday and is "learning" her ABC's and to count to 10. She can even recognize the number 8 when she sees it! Ella loves playing outside, but has been enjoying TV lately. Her favorite show is Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, but she also enjoys Sesame Street and many other cartoons. The potty training is going well. We're not there yet, but Ella tells us when she has to go and usually does. She is still going in her diaper most of the time, but usually pees on the potty anywhere between 2-8 times a day...Depending on her mood! Mommy and Daddy are getting exciting for the new baby and we hope Ella is too. If you ask where baby sissy is? she usually points to my belly. I'm hoping she adjusts well and doesn't get too jealous. Here are some pictures I took tonight. Enjoy!
