Playing at the Purple Playground

Yesterday (and today) was too nice to stay inside, so we took the girls to their favorite playground.  Kayla is getting so big she climbs up to the slide and goes down all my herself.  Ella loves to run around and can do the climbing wall all by herself!
Ella feels like a pirate looking the telescope.

Opps...I was too busy taking pictures I forgot to catch Kayla at the bottom!

HALLOWEEN

Ella was so excited for Halloween and she wasn't disappointed!  After school, a quick bath, a nap and a snack it was time to get back in her costume for trick or treating.  Amanda and John invited us over for pizza and trick or treating with their boys, Coleman and Carter.  Ella had a blast going around with the boys and pretty much kept up with them...For about 40 minutes.  Brian and I took turns carrying Kayla around the neighborhood, but she would walk up to the door and get her candy.  As first she didn't really want to hold her bucket, but after she got that first piece of candy in there, she wouldn't let it go!  Here are a few pictures the night.
I warned Ella about Coleman's scary mask and she was fine, but I wasn't even thinking when I put Kayla down next to him for the picture.  We didn't catch it on camera, but she was terrified!

Right before leaving to trick or treat...Ella was super excited and Kayla was tired and probably cold!

We all dressed up for trick or treating this year...Three pirates and one flower.

Ella hanging with the boys getting her "treats." After every house she would show us her bucket and say "look at all the treats I got!"

Road Trip to Reading, MA

Sorry this posting is late, but it's been a crazy week.  Anyway, last weekend we packed up the car and headed up to Massachusetts to visit The Dyment's!  I was SUPER nervous about the 8 hour car ride, but the girls did great...Even Kayla!  On the way up, it ended up being a 9 hour ride since we hit some traffic.  Kayla and Ella actually slept through most of it.  Ella was so excited to get there and see Aunt Cheley, Uncle Mike and the girls.  They played great all weekend and Kayla didn't get into too much she wasn't supposed to.  We left Monday morning around 6:00 am and this time the ride was only 8.5 hours, but we had more potty breaks and took longer for lunch.  The trip went so well, we're going to do it again this summer.  Enjoy some of the pictures from our weekend.

On the way up...Ella playing with her laptop and watching a DVD.

Since Ella took a nap on the way up in the car we put her to bed late.  The next day she was so tired, she fell asleep while watching a show on the couch.

Kayla loved their playroom and coloring at the little table.

Dancing around the living room.

Kayla's Baptized!

On Saturday Kayla was baptized at Brian's family's church in Smithsburg.  All the the immediate family was there and a few others too!  Kayla didn't nap on the way there, so she was kind of a mess when we first got to the church, but she turned it around when it was time for the service and was full of smiles.  Here are some pictures taken at the church.
Family Picture...Kayla not quite ready to smile yet.

Didn't want Godparents, John and Amanda, to hold her.

Resting her head on Daddy's shoulder before the service started.

Now she turned it on and was smiling at everyone!

Being held by Reverend Mortimer.

Now she's happy!  :)

Ella's Birthday Party at the Farm

Yesterday we had Ella's 3rd birthday party at Clark's Farm.  We invited all her friends from school and of course, Sarah and Taylor.  She had so much fun seeing her friends and getting to see, feed and even hug the animals!  Sometimes she was a little rough, but she was only trying to love them.

Feeding the goat.

Reaching through the fence, putting her arms around the goat's neck to pull it close enough to kiss!  Our tour guide said the goats didn't have teeth on the top, but I was still worried she would get hurt or hurt them!

The tour guide said the baby ducks were very dirty and you shouldn't touch your face or mouth after petting them and to wash your hand right after.

I guess Ella didn't think that meant she couldn't kiss them!

After she was yelled at for trying to kiss the duck!

Ella and her friends from school on the tractor for the hayride.

Kayla was wiped out and fell asleep in the stroller like this!

We didn't have enough time at the farm to open her presents, so after a tubby she was so excited to see what she got!
