OBX Vacation

Last Sunday the Updegraff's left for our first family vacation to the Outer Banks in NC. Ella did great on the 5 hour drive and we only had to stop once for lunch. By the time we reached the NC border she started to get a little fussy, but we made it there with little crying. On our first full day we took Ella to the beach for the first time. She enjoyed playing in the sand and getting her feet wet in the ocean, but she was ready to leave after an hour. The house we rented had a pool and Daddy took Ella swimming. She loved it! She stayed in for about an hour and liked playing with her beach ball. The following day wasn't as sunny, so we went sight seeing. We checked out some local shops and went to the Wright Brother's Memorial. On Wednesday, the Dyment Family, Mike, Michele, and twins, Sarah and Taylor came and the party really started! Ella loves playing with her friends and we always have a good time with Mike and Michele. Since it's such a hassle packing everything up to go to the beach, we just hung around the pool and the little girls played in the baby pool and under the cabana. 46 Weeks

Sorry this is late, but we were on vacation this past week with no access to a computer. We went to the Outer Banks in NC and we all had a wonderful time. I'll post pictures of the trip shortly.

Ella's 1st Time at the Zoo

Yesterday Ella, Mommy, Daddy, Grammy and Pappy Rick went to the National Zoo in Washington, DC. Ella wasn't as interested as I would have hoped, but the rest of us had a great time. Ella did enjoy watching the elephants and the apes. Other than that she didn't seem to notice the smaller animals. Maybe she'll have more fun next year. She's already wants a cell phone!

Ella has been getting really fussy from about 5:00-6:00 pm most nights. Not really sure why, but she gets even more upset when she wants something she can't have. For example my cell phone! Enjoy the latest videos.

10 Months

Ella is ten months today and getting bigger and more active by the day. She is finally sleeping through the night and getting over her first cold. Just over a week ago she was sick for the first time. She was fine during the day, but at night she had a little trouble breathing because she was so congested. Her top two teeth came in and now the teeth next to them are coming in too. Ella can now crawl up on her hands and knees, pull herself up to stand and walk along the furniture. She can even crawl up the steps, but not come back down them safely. She still loves playing with all her toys, going for walks in the stroller and running errands with Mommy. She's always so happy and smiling all the time...Except when I try and take her picture. I don't know why, but she hates smiling for the camera unless I catch her off guard.
