Ella's 1st Day of Pre-School

Today was Ella's 1st day of pre-school and she was very excited to go! I was nervous (and sad) about leaving her, but of course she was too excited to play with the toys to even realize I left. When I came back to to pick her up she didn't seem upset. I kept asking her what she did at school, but all she keeps saying is "muffin" and "juice." I'm going to assume she had a muffin and juice for snack. Ella also made an arts and crafts project at school and that's her wearing it in the bottom picture. I hope she's as excited as she was today to go back on Thursday!

New Toys

Yesterday we got out the activity center for Kayla and this weekend Grammie and Pappy Rick brought home a purse for Ella from their trip to Savannah. They both love their new toys!

Three Month Update

Yesterday Kayla was three months! She has been much fussier, especially in the evenings right after we put Ella to bed. It's usually because she's hungry and/or tired, but she's too upset to eat or sleep. I'm hoping it's just a phase and she grows out of that real quick! She is also awake much more during the day and usually in a good mood. She smiles all the time and is starting to laugh and get ticklish! If you rub her belly or neck it makes her laugh most of the time. It's really cute because she's always smiling at Ella. You would think Ella's yelling and screaming would scare her, but it's the opposite. Ella still loves to love her sister. She is always asking to hold Kayla and still likes to grab her hands to dance with her. Kayla is growing so much and I'm looking forward to her appointment next month to find out how much she has grown. This past month she has also slept through the night three time and I'm hoping that happens much more next month. Stay tuned...

School's Canceled

Ella was supposed to have her official first day of school today, but due to the large amount of rain we received yesterday the school had a leak and canceled class to fix it. Ella was very excited about her new backpack and loved wearing around the house. I know it's huge on her, but we were told to buy a normal size backpack. They need to carry a complete change of clothes, diapers and wipes and and an emergency kit with a snack, bottle of water and a small toy. I would have thought that was crazy, but after going through an earthquake and hurricane in the same week I can understand why. She also needs room to carry home all her art projects. Hopefully the roof will be fixed and she will go back on Tuesday!

Ella's Unofficial 1st Day of Nursery School

Today Ella started nursery school! All family members were invited on the first day for a cookie social. Ella was very shy walking into her new school, but warmed up right away after seeing all the toys. Her favorite things she played with today were the cash register and the play kitchen. Ella did get upset and cried when the teacher turned on the music for the kids to sing and dance, but she calmed down and was back to her normal self for snack time. When we got home she was still talking about what she ate and the songs they sang. Thursday is her first real day and I will drop her off at 9:00 and pick her up at 11:00. I'm sure Ella will do great!

Today we sat Kayla in the Bumbo for the first. I was telling Brian how similar she looked to Ella and decided to break out the old photo album to compare. I couldn't believe they happened to be wearing the same outfit! Can you tell who's who?
