Outer Banks Vacation 2012

Our 3rd annual trip to the Outer Banks was great!  Ella played so well with Sarah and Taylor and even Kayla slept through the night, every night and started eating!  She loves toast, bagels, pretzels and especially ice cream, as you can see in the pictures.  Most days we would go to the beach in the morning and then after lunch hang out in the pool.  Ella loved swimming, jumping in and going under the water.  Kayla would even put her face in the water and we knew she was hungry when she would try to drink the pool water.  Ella also did great going on the potty.  She didn't have any accidents and woke up dry every morning except one.  She was waking up around 5:30 am to tell us she had to potty, but as least she was telling us.  All the girls napped well and went to bed early, so the adults were even able to have some fun while the kiddos were asleep.  All in all, a good time was had by all and we can't wait to do it again next year!

OBX Vacation

Last week was the Updegraff's 2nd Annual Family vacation to the Outer Banks in NC. This year the Dyment's joined us for the entire week. We all had a great time, but were pretty exhausted by the end of the week and ready to get home. Ella loves the water! Whether she was playing in her baby pool in our backyard, running along the ocean at the beach or even in the jacuzzi tub she had a blast! Definitely her favorite part of the trip was playing at the beach. She loves running into the water, playing in the sand and picking up seashells. As you can see in the wagon picture below she is screaming because she wasn't ready to go home. All the little girls had a great time and got along very well. There were some issues with sleeping and a few VERY early morning, but for the most part they were all very good. It was very nice to get away and enjoy a week with friends...We can't wait to do it again next year! Here are some of my favorite pictures from the week. OBX Vacation

Last Sunday the Updegraff's left for our first family vacation to the Outer Banks in NC. Ella did great on the 5 hour drive and we only had to stop once for lunch. By the time we reached the NC border she started to get a little fussy, but we made it there with little crying. On our first full day we took Ella to the beach for the first time. She enjoyed playing in the sand and getting her feet wet in the ocean, but she was ready to leave after an hour. The house we rented had a pool and Daddy took Ella swimming. She loved it! She stayed in for about an hour and liked playing with her beach ball. The following day wasn't as sunny, so we went sight seeing. We checked out some local shops and went to the Wright Brother's Memorial. On Wednesday, the Dyment Family, Mike, Michele, and twins, Sarah and Taylor came and the party really started! Ella loves playing with her friends and we always have a good time with Mike and Michele. Since it's such a hassle packing everything up to go to the beach, we just hung around the pool and the little girls played in the baby pool and under the cabana.
